Effective: 7 June 2026  ·  Last updated: 7 June 2026

QC Media ("we", "us", "our") is a Sydney-based video production business. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit qcmedia.com.au or engage our services. We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

Information you provide: When you submit our contact form we collect your first name, last name, email address, phone number, business name, the service you're interested in, and any details you include in your message.

Information collected automatically: When you visit our site, our hosting provider (Netlify) and our analytics tools may record your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location.

Advertising and analytics: We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Meta platforms. The Pixel may set cookies and collect data about your interactions with our site for advertising attribution. See section 6 for details and opt-out options.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a tailored quote
  • To deliver, schedule and invoice the services you engage us for
  • To communicate with you about projects, including before, during and after delivery
  • To analyse and improve our website, services and marketing
  • To measure and improve our advertising on Meta and other platforms
  • To comply with our legal obligations, including under the Privacy Act 1988, Spam Act 2003, and Australian tax law

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers we rely on to run our business — including Netlify (website hosting and form processing), email and calendar providers, accounting and invoicing software, and payment processors. These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
  • Meta (Meta Platforms, Inc.) for the operation of the Meta Pixel and ad measurement.
  • Government, regulators or law enforcement where required or permitted by law.

4. Where your information is stored

Some of our service providers store and process data outside Australia, typically in the United States or European Union. By providing your information you consent to it being transferred and stored overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. How long we keep it

We retain personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by Australian law (typically up to seven years for business and tax records). When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.

6. Cookies, the Meta Pixel and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies — including the Meta Pixel — to operate the site, measure usage and improve our advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not work as intended.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising from Meta and other participating networks at:

  • aboutads.info/choices
  • youronlinechoices.com
  • Or directly in your Meta account ad-preferences settings.

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS encryption in transit, strict access controls on our hosting and tools, and a strict Content Security Policy on this website. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection — but we take reasonable steps to minimise risk.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request that we correct or update it if it is inaccurate or out of date
  • Request that we delete it (subject to our legal retention obligations)
  • Withdraw your consent to direct marketing from us at any time — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option
  • Complain to us, or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au, if you believe we have mishandled your information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 10. We will respond within a reasonable time and at most within 30 days.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal obligations. The "Effective" date at the top of this page will be updated whenever we do. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
